Works great (Report Review)

I have had my Reminton Wet 2 Straight Hair Straightener for over a year and a half now. I have very curly hair that is also frizzy at times. It has been hard for me to find a good straightener that is reasonably priced. I am very
happy with this product. It has heat settings from 295 degrees to 395 degrees. The hottest i ever use is 330 and i have to be careful not to get burned. For me it works really well when my hair is dry. I do not like using it on wet hair.
Pros: |
It really does straighten out my hair and i get compliments when i take my time and also use a lotion or cream to make it sleeker. My teenage daughter also loves it and uses it regularly. Their is an adjustment for detangling so that it is not totally flat and i do use this because my hair is so thick and curly. The iron has an on-off button but will automatically shut off if you forget and walk away from it for too long. I got the iron on sale for $64 and feel like i really got a good deal for how well it works. Their is an adjustment and attachment for an ionizer but i do not use that feature. It has really held up well what with all the use that it gets. |

Cost Effective Flat Iron (Report Review)
Aug 23, 2011 by tona37211

My hair is very dry and unmanageable most of the time and therefore for me, I find it very hard to be able to use any type of heated element on my hair. I do not want to cause it to dry out any more and therefore am very cautious of the items I purchase. Someone purchased this for me and said that I would love it once I had tried it. I did not think that she knew what she was talking about but oh well, she did. I found out shortly after I used it for the first time that this was just the item that I had been missing all along. The flat iron puts new meaning to flat!
I typically have hair that is frizzy and even once it is flat ironed, it still remains somewhat frizzy. I do not like many of the flat irons on the market because they allow my hair to stay this way however with this flat iron, I liked it and was hooked right away. My hair was no longer frizzy and it worked to keep my hair flat for hours on end. I like the fact that it is affordable and that it can be easily replaced when something goes wrong with it. When she told me how she paid for it, I said no way. It has to cost more for what it does for your hair.
I am now happy with my hair on the days that I have time to flat iron it and on the days that I do not, I simply just put it up in a ponytail. I do not have time to flatten it everyday so on the occasion when I do, I am quite pleased with the results. Overall, I am quite pleased with my friends purchase!

It's an OK Straightener (Report Review)

The Remington Wet 2 Straight straightener is fairly cheap-- I bought mine at Ulta for around $25. I have gone through many straighteners and I thought that being able to straighten your hair while wet was an interesting concept and I wanted to see if it would work, so I purchased this product.
I want to start by stating you get what you pay for. Although it does straighten your hair while it's wet, I feel like it burns my hair and I noticed that I got more split ends after using this straightener a couple times. Also, if you do choose to straighten your hair wet, you will have to put it on a very high heat setting. I tend to burn myself when I straighten my hair damp because the water "spits" out of the straightener and burns you. My hair also seems a bit frizzy afterwards. It's also heavy for a straightener. It takes me about a half an hour to straighten my hair and my arms feel a bit sore after I'm done. This has never happened with my other straighteners.
All in all, it's an average, typical straightener. If you do decide to purchase this, I recommend blow drying or waiting for your hair to dry before straightening. I don't think I would recommend this straightener to anyone or purchase this again.
