Nice color selection, not as long-lasting as some brand (Report Review)

If you're looking for a drugstore makeup company with a nice selection of eyeshadow palettes, in both everyday colors and more exotic tones, then Cover Girl is probably your best bet. These single-pan shadows are cheap and there are lots of shades that I haven't seen in a single-pan format from other drugstore makeup brands like Maybelline.
So, if you want to experiment with a crazy color like lime green or vibrant yellow as part of the Crayola-inspired makeup trend, or you just need a pan of neutral champagne-colored shadow for your "bare face" days, this brand probably has a shadow to suit you. As cheap as they are, you can afford to buy several different pans to create different eye looks: smokey eyes, multicolored eyes, and so on.
So, why only rate this product three stars? The color just isn't very long-lasting. It seems like it fades away quickly and some of the colors show creasing. This is the sort of thing I would expect from a super-cheap eyeshadow, but Covergirl is a pretty big makeup company and I thought that their products would be a little better. Admittedly, you're talking about $3 shadow, but still...
The other gripe I have is that some of the bright colors just don't seem as opaque as I'd like. Ironically, I bought a pan of "cheap" New York Color eyeshadow with two shades of bright blue, and it was more intense than the bright blue Cover Girl shadow I tried.
The neutral shades seem slightly better in this respect but overall, I think these shadows are fairly sheer in application. Some might like that quality, but they really don't build well with multiple applications, so for an intense result, you're better off trying another brand.
Overall, a so-so product, nothing to write home about.
