Does Not Work (Report Review)
Aug 23, 2011 by Kyeste
Consumer rating: (2)
Shampoo is meant to be for scalp use, but this shampoo claims to fix split ends. Does it fix split ends? No, it makes them worse. A lot worse.
It has one redeeming quality: I love the way this product treats my oily scalp, it does a great job of controlling the sebum. If your scalp is oily you will love this shampoo. If you have a normal to dry and itchy scalp or are prone to sebhorrea or dandruff stay away from this product. The drying effect will worsen your condition.
Now, back to the split end claims. I started out applying it to my split ends to see if it would do as it claims, but when I worked it into my lower lengths I noticed my hair started to feel brittle and dry... and that was when it was wet!
After using the shampoo on my split ends I had to use conditioner twice to try and fix the feeling. It didn’t work completely. Air drying my hair it became “crunchy”. I had to use serums to repair the damage that conditioner couldn’t fix. I do not know what would happen if you used a flat iron or a hair dryer after using it, but I would not suggest it!
The smell is not too strong, but it will linger until your next wash and does not mesh well with the smell of hair care products like gel, hair spray, or serums. Do not use if you plan to style your hair or are going to a ‘no perfume’ area like a hospital.
The shampoo is not thick and is incredibly runny. After discovering it damaged my split ends more, I attempted to use it solely on my scalp and avoid my split ends. No matter how much I tried to avoid getting it into the lengths of my hair... it just ran right down instead of staying on my scalp.
If you have damaged hair avoid using this shampoo and stick to the pro-mend or a high quality conditioner. Pair it with a gentle shampoo for your scalp.
If you have oily hair and your ends are barely damaged, this product is recommended. If you have normal to drier scalp conditions, have dry damaged ends, then avoid this product at all costs. If you have a thick, high quality conditioner than you may be able to reverse the drying effect, but unfortunately I do not have a recommendation.
