Didn't remove the hair (Report Review)

I really do love Sally Hansen products. I love the nail polishes, nail treatments, and other beauty implements like tweezers and nail files.

But I'm just going to have to give up on the wax kits. I've had no luck with the hot wax kits, and this cold wax kit was little better.

The idea behind these pre-cut wax strips is that you're not dealing with the mess of a hot wax set-up; you simply peel, stick, and strip. It's also supposed to be less painful than hot wax, because the cold wax doesn't stick to your skin quite so bad.

You have to warm up each strip by rubbing it vigorously between your hands before you can peel off the backing and lay it on the area to be waxed. This is a little awkward and doesn't seem to work terribly well.

The strips don't fully remove the hair! They pull out about half and leave patches behind, so you end up having to shave afterwards anyway. Well, if I wanted to shave, I wouldn't have bought the wax strip kit!

Also, the instructions claim that using these strips doesn't hurt as much as using a hot wax kit. That's true, but that's like saying that dropping a small rock on your toe hurts less than dropping a large rock. It still hurts, and it'll still leave your skin red and raw.

I finally gave up on this kit and returned it to the store. I've used other cold wax strip kits before, to shape my eyebrows, and I didn't have so many problems with them. I'm not sure if it's just this brand, or if it has something to do with trying to wax the larger area of a leg versus a small patch under an eyebrow. Either way, I won't be purchasing this kit again.
Pros:  --Easy to use
--Not messy
--Not as painful as hot wax
--Inexpensive
Cons:  --Didn't really remove any hair
