High quality dumbbells (Report Review)

The Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells are great for people that have limimted space in their homes. There is a dial that lets you adjust the weights. I love these weights because there are many different exercises that I can do. They are a bit pricey at around 350 and I don't think they are worth the price but it is good if you do not want some huge bulky contraption sitting in your living room or basement. I am pretty sure you can get different weights and they will cost you alot less. My husband uses these weights and he really loves them too. Of course I put the weights on a lower pound than he does, but I am already seeing results because of the different exercises and curl-ups that I do with the Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbells. I am really glad that I bought these though, because they get put to good use. I was able to reduce my bat wings on my arms and I noticed that my husband's arms looked really toned and muscular. Overall, I would probably recommend these to a friend but they would never buy them because of the price! If you do not mind buying something that is expensive, but does a good job, then I would tell you to buy these weights.

effective
versatile
easy to adjust the dial |

The best! (Report Review)

I used the 552 dumbells with my P90X workout and I have to say they made life a heck of a lot easier. It couldn't be easier to select the appropriate weight with these things, and with limited time between excersizes, these were golden. The construction is sturdy; not once did I feel any uneasiness in using them. Even moves where the dumbells were lifted quickly and brought back down didn't cause any issues with the locking mechanism of the dumbells. The only slight issue is the overall length of the dumbells. The width is manageable but the length can cause a few issues in maybe 5% of the excersizes performed. An example of this is doing concentration curls with both arms simultaneously. I ended up having to alternate to get around the length of the dumbell. All in all it is quite easy to work around this small issue and it doesn't impact the 5 star rating for me especially considering that having used the block alternative as well, the bowflex ones caused a lot less issues during excersize movements.
I used these without the stand, if you do as well make sure you lift with your legs and not your back. If you have a bad back, or just want to be safe, you may want to go with the stand. (Though theres nothing wrong with a little extra leg work with the proper form ;) ) In summary, if your doing P90X, or any other home workout routine that requires you to switch weights quickly, this is the dumbell for you. Also if your going for P90X know that the 552 version covered the weight I needed for every single excersize I may have been able to go heavier on a few excersizes but the sheer intensity of this workout would have limited my reps significantly. Hope this helps!

Goes Well with Nordic Treadmill (Report Review)
Aug 26, 2011 by golfcartdriver

I actually invested quite a lot in very good, and hardy exercise equipment to last those long trademark michigan winters, and so far,i haven't been disappointed by ANY of them. My nordic treadmill has been working very well, and then it comes right down to these amazing weights, who even thought they could make weights as good as this! I love the easy changing feature, it actually really works well, because last for a couple months i had been working out at a gym, but they had steel weights that were very VERY bad quality, nothing compared to this. Even the treadmill in the gym was rickety, old and just... BLECH. I also love the SMOOTH, EASY feeling that you get with this weight that you won't get with any other weight, let me tell you, i mean all in all these weights are amazing, the fact that in ONE weight they are combining the equal to 15 WEIGHTS is just AMAZING, 5 to 50 pounds is what you have to work with on these weights. I think you should go for these weights for their ease of use and all the combinations they have. THANKS FOR READING!

Great! (Report Review)

The best dumbbells ever made!!!
I absolutely love these dumbbells
If you try these dumbbells I'm almost positive you will be hooked for life!
As long as you take working out seriously and don't just do 3 or 4 and call it a day I'm almost positive you will start seeing results using this product.
I've been in love ever since I got these because they work fantastically and I don't have any issues with my neck or back.
The weight is a much smoother weight than what you will usually get with a normal dumbbell.
If you've ever worked out at a gym or your house and you've used the solid steel weights and then you try this I'm sure you will be hooked instantly.
The weight options they give you are pretty good you can go up to 52.5 pounds per dumbbell and down all the way to 5lbs.
You can combine 15 sets of weights into one dumbbell using a dial they have on it and they eliminate the need for having multiple weight dumbbells around the house.
If you're looking at working out at home and you want to see results I would say this is one of the best ways to do it.
