Fine if you replace instead of upgrade (Report Review)

I usually keep my computers for 5-8 years by upgrading. I decided to add a little internal memory only to discover there were no open slots. I had to purchase an external hard drive which causes the computer to overheat often.

Reliable Laptop (Report Review)
Jul 26, 2011 by DGSFreelancer
Consumer rating: (5)
As my first laptop computer, the Toshiba Satellite L300 has been very reliable for the last 2 years that I've owned it. I am currently on the second battery, which cost me about $100 each time I need a new one, but that is typical for any laptop from what I hear.
When I went to Future Shop to by my first laptop, I asked the sales rep which one would be best for multi media and travelling. He immediately referred me to the Toshiba family, especially the Satellite series. The first thing I noticed, bedsides the screen resolution and clarity, was the sound that came out of the speakers. Compared to any other laptop, I found that Toshiba did not spare any expense on their speakers. This laptop sound system is loud and clear, enough to use as a stereo when listening to my favourite music and watching videos.
Since I like a little bit of gaming, the Toshiba L300’s 15.4”screen, combined with the ATI graphic card, and great sounding speakers, any games played on this laptop can be considered more than adequate. This laptop also has proficient wireless connectivity, a built in webcam/microphone with facial recognition, voice recognition, and a multi optical DVD with Labelflash. “Labelflash™ uses an optical drive's laser beam to burn images onto the label side of a disc.”
As my working tool, the Toshiba Satellite L300 has proven itself a good laptop for word-processing and data crunching on the road. It is very durable, and even though I have banged it a few times during transit, it still keeps on running cool, smoothly, and surprisingly quiet. For the $555 I paid for the Toshiba Satellite L300 laptop and all the features that it gives me, I would say I got a good bang for my buck on this portable PC.
