Oster 6803 Core 14-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, White (Report Review)
Aug 26, 2011 by lahiri22
Consumer rating: (3)
I recently purchased the Oster 6803 Core 14-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, White with the sole intention of making green smoothies. So far I have used it twice, and I am still considering returning it. The first time I used it, I guess I didn't tighten the base enough, because some of the liquid started leaking out of the bottom. I think the design of the base could definitely be improved upon, because the process of twisting the blender jar to lock in in place on the stand might inadvertently cause the bottom of the jar to loosen (hence the leakage of fluid later on). On the low speed, the blender is not too loud, but on the high speed, the sound can be a bother without ear plugs. I tried making a smoothie out of romain lettuce, an apple, a pear and a carrot. I would suggest chopping the fruits as finely as you can, so as to reduce the burden on the blender's motor. Try pulsing on low first and work your way up to high. You will probably have to stire every once in a while to make sure that the top gets blended as well.
