Good but not all it's cracked up to be. (Report Review)

I bought this a few months ago based on all the hype that was going on for it and needless to say you should never buy off of hype and that's a lesson that I learned.

This console isn't very much better than the original DS that nintendo made but there is slight improvements like cameras, web browser and the console is bit slimmer.

Needless to say if I could do it over again I probably wouldn't have bought it however the handheld itself is pretty good and can get very addicting.

It's especially nice during trips where you're not driving and you're just a passenger because you can really kill some time using one of these things if you have some good games.

The price itself is not too bad but it's definitely not cheap If I recall I paid around $180.00 for it.

One of my favorite games for it is cooking mama because you get to use the pencil that comes with your DSI and it really keeps you moving and motivated to get to the next cooking mission.

It's a great little hand held for anyone looking for general gaming and it's great for kids too.

If you have a regular DS though I probably wouldn't upgrade to this because it's not worth it unless you can sell your existing system for a decent price to get this.
Pros:  Cameras,
Internet browser,
Dual Screen,
Touch screen - pencil ,
Hours of fun.
Cons:  Little expensive,
Games are expensive,
Not many improvements from the original.

hi i bought the nintendo dsi for my 11 year old son last week because i read some great reviews on it. he loves it, he always tells me how he can take pictures and play games and go on the internet and download games of the nintendo store. i even use it sometimes and i am 50 years old and i love it. he is also always wanting me to take him to a game store to by games for it. he loves that you can buy skins to change its color. oh and he is always on a program called pictochat witch is where you can chat with people with other nintendo dsi, he chats with our next door neighbor. and there is so many games you can buy for it like action games like sonic or mario, cooking games like cooking mama, shooter games like call or duty, education gamesbrain age animal games like nintendogs and a game that helps me stop smoking. so it is not just for kids. i also plan on taking it on vacation to take pictures next week then download the pics to my computer. and this is my review on the nintendo dsi, i recommend it to all ages. thanks

The Nintendo DSi is a great alternative to the new and super expensive Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo DSi has almost all the features of the 3DS, minus the 3D, of course.

The DSi has many awesome features that my oldest daughter, who owns one, loves. She can take pictures and edit them into wacky creations, record her voice and make herself sound like an alien from another planet, surf the Internet for free, download fun and family-friendly games from the Nintendo eShop, and of course, play the many fun games that you can purchase just for the Nintendo DS systems. Some of my daughter's favorite games are Nintendogs, where you take up the job as a petkeeper and raise and train your dogs with love; Pokemon Black version, where you set off into a region with your Pokemon friends and battle friends, foes, and ultimately become the Unova Region Champion and the Hero of Truth; and Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, where you set off on a treacherous journey as the Hylian Link to save the Princess Zelda.

Overall, this is a great, family-friendly system with many great games and features to entertain your kids for hours.

i wanted to buy something for my daughter's bday and i read great reviews on the nintendo dsi so i decided to buy it. when i gave it to her, she was so happy. she thanked me so much and i could tell by her smile that she was so happy. i bought this a year ago and she's still playing it occasionally. there are so many things you can do with these and there are so many fun games that goes with it. im really surprised since i didnt' expect them to do this and they did and more. i love nintendo. sometimes when she's not playing, i would play the game by myself too so that just proved that it's good for all ages. it's really fun and you can pass time really quickly. for those wanting to buy something for their kid or even themselves, this is a great treat and im sure it'll bee a hit. and i agree with you golfcartdriver! new super mario is one of the best games on the ds ever! love that game!
Pros:  1. amazing features such as camera, recording, downloading demos and they all work great
2. awesome design, much better than the ds lite
3. so many collection of games
Cons:  1. pictures only look good on the dsi and not on computers
2. 10 sec of voice recording is too little for me

first off, i didn't think they would make such a big jump from the ds lite to dsi. I love the camera, its am=n amazing add on to the original ds and it allows me to take many funny photos and such, i don't know how i could have lived without the camera when i was using the ds lite and didn't know about this amazing piece of technology. The applications that come with it are amazing too- sound allows you to record your voice and put effects on it and such, this is really fun if you want to secretly record your friend saying something and make it even funnier by putting effects on it! and don't even get me started on the widespread amount of games available for this ds. after this ds was launched they launched many different games with it too that make use of the camera! so I'm just telling you don't hold back, its a truly amazing piece of hardware containing very good software. OH YEAH I'm gonna go play some more of my games. OH- PS: get New Super Mario Bros, its my favorite game in the whole wide world! :)
Nintendo Lovers Beware! (Report Review)

My son is such a gaming fanatic that he asks for every new game system that comes onto the market as well as a large number of games to keep him busy. I do not like him to play as many games as he does however many of them are games that teach him how to do things. I was quite surprised when he asked me for a Suduku game. (However you spell that math game). With the Nintendo DSi, I thought hard about whether or not I wanted him to have it before I decided, (against my better judgement) that I should buy it for him.

I liked the fact that the DSi comes with a larger screen, 2 at that, and that it has a .3 megapixel camera. This specific model of the Nintendo DSi is going to be a little thinner than your typical DS lite and is going to have access exclusively for the DSi shop in order for you to download games and applications.

The bad thing about this system is that it does not support the Game Boy advance games and that it actually has a lower battery life than many of the other game systems. The settings for the internet will have to be searched for and the settings are a bit confusing as well. If you have the previous Nintendo DS, then you will want to upgrade this gadget instead of your own one and if you have never had one previously, then you will want to purchase one.

Like I said, I like all the new games that came out for the Nintendo DSI series and that many of the games that are on the market these days are actually educational games. If I could choose between this gadget and the PSP, I would choose this one any day of the week.
Pros:  Comes with internet settings and dual screens
Cons:  Battery life is short.
Good for everyone (Report Review)

This is the first portable game device that I bought and I was really hoping it was good. I bought the blue one and I really liked the design. It's so sleek and such a good appearance. So far so good. And when you turn on the game, it feels really comfortable too. It feels as if it's like your diary/handbook sort of thing. It feels close to you. So I tried my first game that I bought "super monkey ball" and i loved it! best game ever! So then i tried the camera feature and it did what it did and there's more. It's probably my favorite feature. Next is the voice recording. It's also one of my favorites. You can do so many cool voices in here! But one flaw is that you can only record 10 sec which is just horrible. next is the pictochat. I like this. It's fun drawing and typing, kinda like PAINT. And there are so many more features too! It has everything in it and it's so cheap. When you buy this, I promise that everyone will want to play it!
Pros:  - lots of colors to choose from
- good price
- fun things to do with the camera and voice recording
-able to download game demos
- is able to go online
- lots of good games and unique ways of playing them
- sd card
- good battery life
Cons:  -like the other user said, we only have 10 sec to record every time. I really hate that. I don't know why they would do that, it's jut a pain in the arse.
-pictures only look good on the dsi screen
Needs a little more improvement to be Perfect! (Report Review)

I already have the Nintendo DS Lite and this really look like a step up from it. I read lots of reviews before buying this and theirs all said good thins about this. So when I bought this, I got very big expectations for this. And it did meet my expetations... barely.
DESIGN:
- It's a really big step from the Nintendo DS Lite. I love the sleek design and it looks really fantastic!

CAMERA:
- The camera is perfect especially for little kids. There are so many features on the camera feature. You can either take pictures facing you or facing the other way which is a very big plus in my book. You can also use other features such as frames, colors, drawing on the pictures, making weird distortion, and so many others. My favorite though is the blending of 2 faces to see their babies! That was just cool. The only problem I have with this is that it's low quality/blurry which is expectable. Overall it's an amazing feature.

Voice Recording:
- This is also an excellent feature. You only have 10 seconds to record.. (Yeah.. that's what I hate about it too). But after you record, you get to change the pitch and other cool things. You can change the settings to you talking with the wind, robot, bird voice, and other cool settings. Another great feature.

Internet Browsing:
- I really like browsing the internet here. It uses both the top and bottom screen and loads rather quickly. Nothing to say much here.

GAMING:
- Playing games here are like the other past nintendo DS. So i really don't have anything to say. The first game I got was Mario Kart and it was super fun as usual.

Overall: With the price $150ish, it's a great buy. It's a really big step up from the preveious DS and I'm pretty sure kids will love it and even adults will too!
Pros:  - Cool settings on both the Voice Recording & Camera
- Playing games are cool with the touch screen
- Sleek Design
- Good price
Cons:  - Only 10 second of recording
- Low Quality pictures for the camera feature
