Before I purchased my current coffee and tea maker, the Black & Decker SDC740 12-Cup Coffee Maker is what I owned. Me and my husband had trouble installing this because it seemed like the screws did not work or something. I really think that no body tested this coffee machine before putting it out on the market! The Black & Decker SDC740 12-Cup Coffee Maker is also really large and does not leave a lot of counter space under it. Brewing is also slow which boggles my mind. This was just turning out to be a bad product. At first, I thought it was just the one I purchased, when I got a replacement for the Black & Decker SDC740 12-Cup Coffee Maker it still took forever to install and it was clear that it was just the product itself that was bad. The top of the coffee pot had cracks in it which I was scared were going to fall in. I eventually returned this one and explained my dilemma. They tried to send me out a new one for free but it was not even worth my time anymore. I would not recommend the Black & Decker SDC740 12-Cup Coffee Maker to anyone.
