Not a spa-like experience at all (Report Review)

Consumer rating: (2)
To be entirely upfront, I'm not a big fan of waxing in general. Yes, I'm a bit of a wuss, but my experiences with home waxing kits have generally been extremely painful and messy to boot.
A while back, however, I decided to give home waxing another try, in preparation for a beach vacation. I picked up this kit from the drugstore because I've had good experiences with other Sally Hansen products and this one was quite reasonably priced. Also, the "spa" connotation and the inclusion of the finishing oil made me hope that this wax kit would be a bit easier to use than some of the others that I've tried.
Well, I was disappointed. Many wax kits make the claim that the wax is a special formula that won't stick to your skin. I have to say, that was definitely not the case with this product!
In fact, the wax stuck to my legs so resolutely that I wound up sitting in front of my computer, one leg covered in stiff patches of blue goo, searching through Google for ways to get the stuff off as painlessly as possible.
To add insult to injury, the wax didn't thoroughly remove the hair from my legs, so I ended up having to shave off little patches here and there all over my shins the next day.
The wax was messy and drippy, which is to be expected, and the finishing oil did little to clean it up.
I followed the directions very carefully, so I'm not sure if there was something inherently wrong with the kit itself, or if I'm just lacking some of the insider pro tricks that make it easier to use these at-home waxing kits.
Either way, this product was a huge disappointment, and I wouldn't purchase it again. It was not convenient and not very spa-like at all.
